New Hampshire Credit Repair Laws
Consumers in New Hampshire wanting to use a credit repair firm to repair their bad credit need to know that New Hampshire credit repair laws (N.H. Rev. Stat. Ann. §§ 359-D:1 to 359-D:11) give some protection above federal laws, but not much.
The following bad credit repair laws apply to the state of New Hampshire only and may have changed depending on any new laws passed since this blog post has been published.
- Credit repair service may not charge or collect a fee for referring consumer to a retail seller who will or may extend credit that is on substantially the same terms as
those available to the general public.
- You may cancel a bad credit repair contract within 5 days of signing and any payment must be returned within 5 days of receipt of cancellation notice. This means you need to send any cancellation notice by certified return receipt mail only and keep the green card that will be returned to you as proof that the request was sent and they received it.
