Consumers in Nebraska wanting to use a credit repair firm to repair their bad credit need to know that Nebraska credit repair laws (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 45-801 to 45-815) do give consumers some level of extra protection above federal credit repair laws.
The following bad credit repair laws apply to the state of Nebraska only and may have changed depending on new laws passed since this blog post has been published
- The bad credit repair service may not charge or collect a fee for referring consumer to a retail seller who will or may extend credit that is on substantially the same terms as those available to the general public.
- Any payment must be returned within 10 days of receipt of cancellation notice. So make sure you send all correspondence (cancellation and request for refund) certified return receipt mail only.
