Consumers in Louisiana wanting to use a credit repair firm to repair their bad credit need to know that Louisiana credit repair laws (La. Rev. Stat. Ann. §§ 9:3573.1 to 9:3573.17) give some protection above federal laws.
The following bad credit repair laws apply to the state of Louisiana
Credit repair service must disclose a complete and accurate statement of the availability of nonprofit credit counseling services, disclose all payments expected from the consumer, give estimated completion date, and wait for payment until services are complete.
Credit repair customers may cancel contract within 5 days of signing. Any payment must be returned within 10 days of receipt of cancellation notice.
