Kentucky Credit Repair Laws

Consumers in Kentucky wanting to use a credit repair firm to repair their bad credit need to know that Kentucky credit repair laws (Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann. §§ 380.010 to 390.990) give some protection above federal laws.

The following bad credit repair laws apply to the state of Kentucky

- Credit repair or debt adjustment services may be provided only by a nonprofit organization, attorney, debtor’s regular full-time employee, creditor providing those available to the general public, submit a debtor’s dispute to a consumer credit reporting agency without the debtor’s knowledge, or provide a service that is not pursuant to a written contract.
- All services must be completed in 90 days.
